School Overview & Community

Stillwater High School is a comprehensive, Title I, public high school serving roughly 1,600 freshmen to senior students on our main campus, with an additional 80 students served off-site at Lincoln Alternative Academy. Regardless of the campus attended, all students graduate with a Stillwater High School diploma.

New Campus Facilities

Beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year, Stillwater High School opens the doors to a brand-new, 188,000-square-foot facility. Funded by a community-backed $195 million bond issue, this state-of-the-art, two-story campus features completely modernized learning spaces, advanced science labs, specialized visual and performing arts rooms, and an ICC-500-rated storm shelter for maximum student safety.

Academic Structure & Schedule

SHS operates on a 4x4 block schedule, dividing the academic year into four nine-week terms. Students take 90-minute classes daily, allowing them to earn up to 8 credits per academic year.

Our rigorous curriculum offers multiple pathways for advanced learning:

  • Advanced Placement (AP): Designed for students seeking college-level rigor. In May 2025, 219 students challenged themselves by taking 372 AP exams, achieving an impressive 77% pass rate.
  • Career & Technical Education: Juniors and seniors have the opportunity to spend half of their school day taking specialized technical courses at Meridian Technology Center.
  • Concurrent Enrollment: Qualified seniors can take up to 9 credit hours per semester through Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma, or Northern Oklahoma College, with tuition fully funded by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

A Place to Belong

We know no two students are the same. With numerous and varied course and elective offerings, robust extracurriculars, and a thriving student organization culture, the faculty and staff at SHS are dedicated to helping students find the groups where they belong, thrive in their high school experience, and prepare for lifelong success and happiness.
