Enrollment FAQs
How do I search for a course I am trying to request in the Campus portal?
It is very important to use the course number to search and not the course name. This is because courses may have similar titles or be abbreviated.
When can my student enroll in Meridian Technology Center?
There are two programs available for sophomores: Pre-Engineering and Bio-Medical. Junior year, there are many programs to choose from. All sophomores tour Meridian in January. Applications and interviews take place in the spring.
At what point can I graduate early?
Students may graduate early in December of their senior year if they meet graduation requirements. An application is required.
Do I have to be enrolled full time?
Yes, according to state law, all students must be fully enrolled, which is four classes a day. Meridian programs and concurrent enrollment count toward full time enrollment.
Can I take virtual classes?
Possibly. There is an application for virtual classes and administrator approval is required.
When can my student take college classes?
Concurrent enrollment is available for juniors and seniors at OSU, NOC and OU. An application is required and students must be accepted to each university.
Can I double up on my core classes in one year?
It may be possible to double up in math and science if space is available. Freshmen can only double up on math on a space available basis - this will be very limited.
Can I change my schedule if I do not like it?
We only make corrections if there is a mistake on our end. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you choose your classes wisely and that you choose alternates that you are willing to take. We will create schedules based on student requests and teacher availability. Seniors are scheduled first, then juniors, and so on.
Am I guaranteed to get the classes I requested?
We do our best to accommodate student requests, but it is not possible for every student to get every class they have requested. That is why alternates are important to request.
Can I choose my teacher?
We do not take teacher requests.
Can I be involved in sports?
Yes! Most sports require tryouts, so it is very important that you connect with the coaches to find out when tryouts will be. Students cannot participate in sports without coaches’ approval. Do not request a sport that you did not participate in this school year. Strength and Conditioning should be requested for the sport in which you are also requested. If strength and conditioning is not listed for your sport, it does not exist.
How are schedules arranged?
Students typically take two core classes and two elective classes each semester.
When will I know my schedule?
Students will receive their schedule at enrollment verification/schedule pick up in August. Students who will miss their assigned day for schedule pickup cannot get their schedule early.
