Stillwater High School Pink Out Fights Cancer

Students at the 2021 Pink Out Football Game“This is my favorite time of year,” says Pink Out sponsor Jody Webber. “Seeing our students lead the charge in honoring cancer survivors, fighters and heroes by raising funds to fight cancer does my Pioneer heart good.”

Each year, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students at Stillwater High School spearhead Pink Out Week to generate funds for the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and to raise awareness of breast cancer. “One hundred percent of the proceeds from Pink Out go to OMRF in Oklahoma City,” says Webber. “In the past twelve years, we’ve raised over $105,000.”

The students have planned numerous activities at SHS, through district locations, and in the community. In addition to specific fundraising events, the district will also host themed attire and hat days, and penny wars. Webber says they have so many activities and opportunities the event has had to grow beyond its typical one-week duration.
