 Never Stop Learning

One of our goals at Lincoln is for students to become lifelong learners and learn about topics outside of school. This semester students have learned about housing options, house maintenance, dog nutrition and maintenance, how to do laundry, voting and civics, job readiness, car maintenance, how to obtain important documents (social security card, birth certificate, etc...), how to use an instant pot (we handed out 50 instant pots to students who completed the classes), bike maintenance, safe driving, mental health and how to be your best self. These are life skills that our students can use and apply to life after graduation.

Lincoln Projects

We are excited to announce some new projects that we will be working on this year. Recently the Stillwater Board of Education approved the naming of the William Grady Lambert Memorial Library. This library will provide a space for our students to read, check out books and honor Grady Lambert who started our Lincoln library as part of his Eagle Scout project. We have combined our Pioneer Pantry and Our Daily Bread Marketplace into one space. This has allowed our students a one-stop shop for them to get what they need. If you are interested in helping supply clothing, shoes, and hygiene items, please contact the main office.

Lincoln Music and Art

Providing music and art opportunities for Lincoln students is important to our teachers and staff. Mr. Frisby wrote a SPEF grant to start a guitar club. We are looking for some guitar storage stands and guitar amps for our electric guitars. Please contact the main office if you can help with this.

Mrs. Treat also wrote a SPEF grant to begin taking students to the Prairie Arts Center to learn printmaking, ceramics, painting, and sculpture. Lincoln students also had the chance to attend the First Americans Museum and the Van Gogh Immersive Art Exhibit. We are really excited for our students to have these art and music opportunities.

We Know How To Have Fun

School is fun and our students love being involved in crazy challenges and contests. Mr. Horton lost the Harvest II bet and had to sit in an ice bath with cheese balls thrown at him. We also had pumpkin and door decorating contest. Thank you to our guest judges who chose our contest winners.

Opportunities for friends to get involved

During the coming year, there will be many opportunities to get involved and support our students. Please contact the Main Office if you are interested in helping with caps and gowns for our graduating seniors, helping with art supplies or gift cards to Hobby Lobby for supplies, bicycles or donating to our Friends Of Lincoln fund, which helps pay for classroom contest prizes, fun student activities, and student field trips. Next semester, our students will be taking tours of many local businesses and City of Stillwater offices to learn about careers and job opportunities. If you know of a local business that would like to share about job opportunities, please contact the main office. If you would like to receive this newsletter, please email [email protected]. Our motto is helping "One Student at a Time", every day.
