Pride Month

June is Pride Month, a time in which many reflect on the struggle for and progress of civil rights for the LGBTQIA+ community. In some places around the world, these individuals’ rights to be acknowledged, to live as they are, and even to exist are in danger. We want every student, employee, family, and community member to know that all are welcome in Stillwater Public Schools.

We take pride in the beautiful diversity, friendliness, and supportive nature of our community. We are committed to working toward acceptance and inclusion of all, and believe that all people should be free to live their lives as they are without fear.

The United States has long moved towards greater and more expansive freedoms for all. We are called by our founding documents to pursue the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all. This is no easy journey, and we’re incredibly proud of the great work of our nation and its citizenry in moving toward ever more kindness and respect.

Be proud of your family and friends, whoever they are.
Be accepting and kind to those who are different from you.
Most importantly, be proud to be you.
Everyone belongs.
