Father's Day

Father's Day honors fathers, father figures, and fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. In the United States, it is celebrated on the third Sunday each June. Traditionally, cards, gifts, and thank yous are given to an individual's father, step-father, and/or those who serve a fatherly role in one's life.

Those who do not have a father or whose fathers have passed away may feel a variety of powerful emotions on Father's Day.

It is not a federal holiday, and generally no store or service closings occur.
