School Dances
Throughout the school year, especially at our secondary schools, SPS will host several school dances. School dances can range from casual, come-as-you-are events to formal dances like the SHS Prom. They are entirely optional, but many students have a great time participating.
- Dress to Impress - For some, dances are a great excuse to dress up fancy! While less prominent than in previous generations, some students will even exchange corsages and boutonnieres with their date for more formal events.
- Tickets - Some events require tickets in advance or an entry fee/donation item at the door.
- Music and moves - Get ready for a mix of tunes that'll make you want to dance the night away, or just enjoy the tunes.
- Pictures - Be ready for lots of pictures at these events.
- Mix and Mingle - Dances are perfect for making new pals, chatting with buddies, and enjoying some tasty snacks and drinks.
- Keep the Party Going - After the dance, some students will host after-parties at their homes to keep the good times rolling.
- Stay Safe - All SPS dances are chaperoned by administration, teachers, staff, and parent volunteers to make sure everyone's having fun safely.
